This is an online workshop. It will be run using Zoom. If you would like to participate but are unfamiliar with Zoom, please let us know. We are happy to help you to enable you to join.
Learn from past tragedies and implement the appropriate precautions. Think through changes at your church that could facilitate a response. With training, you are less likely to freeze in an incident, which can minimize the loss of life.
This training is designed to improve the knowledge of clergy, lay leaders, ushers, security teams, and all attendees of faith-based organizations for response to an armed assailant incident. It will provide the basis for developing or improving upon response plans and training programs. People who receive training are less likely to freeze if ever confronted with such a horrific event.
This training will provide the participants an opportunity to:
- Gain insight into lessons learned from past armed assailant incidents.
- Learn the immediate actions to take in order to minimize loss of life.
- Learn about the role of responding law enforcement and precautions that can be taken by employees in an armed assailant incident.
- Be aware of physical and administrative changes to make at your facility to ease an emergency response to such an incident.
The Zoom link will be emailed to registrants the Friday evening before the workshop.
