When we hold space for other people, we offer them breathing room which allows them to open up and express their feelings. We open our hearts and let go of judgement and control. But that is often easier said than done, especially because we may not realize when our desire to help is causing harm. As Anne Lamott wrote, “Help is the sunny side of control.”
Join us to learn how to align your actions and impacts with your good intentions. We will learn what actions and words to avoid, what supports we may need, and more skillful ways to help.
Humans are constantly experiencing growth and transformation, and this workshop will help you navigate that by learning how to better hold space for others as well as yourself. We will also discuss what to do when you are struggling to hold space and the role of self-care.
This workshop will include interactive discussion and practice.
