If you want to engage with children and adults in imaginative, scriptural storytelling and reflection, Godly Play resources can help! Godly Play uses interactive, contemplative methods to draw children and adults into conversation with Bible stories. It supports, challenges, nourishes and guides their spiritual quests, and passes on complex Christian ideas (story, ritual, parables, silence) in ways that are easier for children and adults to understand.
Our experienced facilitator will present a Godly Play story to the group, followed by discussion and questions. We will address specific questions that arose in previous PRC Godly Play workshops, such as: the role of the doorperson; how to guide an artistic response time; and how to use Godly Play in intergenerational contexts. Both beginners and experienced users are welcome.
Alyssa Pasternak Post, M.A. in Theological Studies, is the Director of Children, Youth, and Families at St. James Episcopal Church. She began practicing Godly Play methods six years ago, and has completed both Godly Play’s Basic and Advanced trainings. Her children remind her to be in the joy of the present moment on a daily basis.
