The holiday season can feel stressful and overwhelming. Quiet and calm yourself; release the stress with a gentle, restorative yoga class. We will fill Grandview UMC’s beautiful sanctuary with candlelight and calm. Restorative yoga emphasizes the centering of your breath and body. It allows you to slow down and open your body through gentle stretching poses in a restful atmosphere. Restorative yoga is very welcoming; the gentle poses won’t overwhelm beginners, and even advanced yogis need to recenter and release tension.
A 20-year practitioner of yoga, Leah Thomas pursued her 200-hour certification in Alignment Yoga from West End Yoga to share her love of yoga with others. She is passionate about creating space for students of all levels to tap into their bodies, while also finding ease through breath and proper alignment. Leah also holds a Ph.D. in pastoral care, and when she’s not practicing yoga, can be found teaching at Lancaster Theological Seminary.
