In 2021 and 2022, PRC helped to furnish new apartments for a number of households at the request of local social workers who routinely saw people moving out of homelessness, or into new living situations, where they did not have the basic furnishings they needed or the resources to purchase them. The more we worked with people transitioning out of homelessness, the more we realized that this is a larger, ongoing need that requires an efficient, ongoing solution.

PRC has started a pilot program Housewares Pantry. Referrals for the Housewares Pantry come from social workers and healthcare providers. A live photo inventory is online so that social workers can work with clients to choose exactly which items will work best for them.
